Students will explore issues of language, culture, race, gender, and class. Using formats such as discussions, short essays, and presentations, students will express their opinions and exchange ideas with classmates and teacher.

概要 Synopsis
|
English Workshop themes will focus on aspects of intercultural understanding and communication. Collaborative activities that involve researching topics that are central to materials used in class and preparing that information for poster sessions or other types of presentations will be explored.

|
1.Expanding English skills and also widening one's view of the world through engaging with multimedia material that features intercultural communication and unfamiliar cultural practices. 2. Broader understanding of issues related to power due to language, gender, racial, cultural differences.

|
演習方式 Students are expected to be active participants in this class. They will work on projects with classmates and prepare a presentation of their work in English. Small group work, individual and group progress reports, will be done regularly. Teacher will interact with all students informally and spontaneously.

Students will keep a record of their activities done in and outside of class. They should come to class having done the homework and ready to participate in classroom activities, having the necessary materials and equipment such as electronic dictionaries, notebooks, etc.

This class will require much interaction in English. Students should take Reading/Writing classes and other classes offered such as アメリカの歴史と文化. In addition, this class can be useful for developing one's graduation thesis. Active participation is required. Students should bring electronic dictionaries to class.
