概要 Synopsis
|
At Level 2, students will engage with multimedia content in English, such as TED.com talks. They will improve their ability to express their ideas through interacting with classmates and making slideshows. In addition, communicating with international students online through Moodle will start from October.
At Level 1, students will watch films and discuss the contents.

|
Students will develop further confidence as an English user. They will also learn to use digital tools to express their ideas. In addition, they will gain a greater awareness of the diversity of English users in the world.

授業形態 Class style
|
On Thursdays, students will participate in Zoom class (Level 2) and will talk with teacher and classmates in English based on materials from TED.com talks. At Level 1, students watch films in class and discuss the contents. On Tuesdays, students will upload written messages to international students using Moodle for the International Virtual Exchange (IVE).
The teacher will use English most of the time.

Week 1: Introduction to class contents, learning strategies. Make personal goals. Become familiar with classmates.
Week 2: Introducing use of TED.com for listening and reading improvement.
Week 3: Begin watching online content. Pair discussion based on worksheets.
Week 4: Explanation about International Virtual Exchange (IVE).
Week 5: Continue with TED.com material.
Week 6: Discussion on TED.com material.
Week 7: Reflections on work done so far. Suggestions about improving listening, speaking.
Week 8: Continue with TED.com material.
Week 9: Discussion on TED.com material.
Week 10: Reflections on IVE work and suggestions for improvement.
Week 11: Review of TED.com themes.
Week 12: Assignments related to TED.com episode. Listening tactics, use of transcript.
Week 13: Create own short presentation based on themes in TED talk.
Week 14: Consultation with instructor. Preparations for presentation, transcript check.
Week 15: Presentations, followed by feedback sessions. Reflections on progress and areas for improvement.

At Level 2, students prepare for Thursday Zoom class by watching online content in advance. Tuesday classes will require work in Moodle Forum. From October, students prepare written messages in English to college students participating in International Virtual Exchange project using Moodle.
At Level 1, continuation of using films for discussion and presentation.

成績評価の方法と基準 Evaluation&criteria
|
Evaluation based on 平常点. Students will be evaluated on their active participation in class, their preparedness for activities, and output in the form of presentations and assignments on Moodle as follows:
International virtual exchange on Moodle 20%, Zoom class work 40%, Forum 40%

定期試験期間中の試験実施方法 Exam period
|
